The Chamberses have picked out a small, pretty home near her parents’. Apparently Baton Rouge is hot and has a ton of bugs and some really nosy people, but it’s a nice place to live. That’s my future-the one I want to get to. Sitting here on the witness stand, I make a promise to myself to be different from now on. I have to be nicer to Clair and John Chambers. Getting ready for a new life in Baton Rouge, where Clair’s family lives. Three times a week is a lot, but I have lots to sort out. They’ve put up with a lot, including shuffling me back and forth to my shrink appointments. I haven’t been a nice kid in those seven months. Right now, they’re at a nearby hotel waiting for me. It’s not exactly witness protection, but we’ve already discussed changing my name and moving out of state.
